Ladder Types
There are many different types of ladders that are designed for specific uses. Remember to always choose the right ladder for the job. Using the incorrect ladder can be just as dangerous as using a ladder improperly. The following are descriptions of some of the common ladder types.

Adjustable Ladders - Versatile ladder can be used in a whole variety of positions
Extension Ladders - Non self-supporting portable ladders that are made up of sections that can be adjusted to change the heigth of the ladder.
Fire Escape Ladders Emergency escape ladder that provides a safe way to your home.
Loft and Attic Ladders - Retractable ladders that provide access to a loft or attic without taking a lot of space.
Platform Ladders - Special purpose ladder that have a large stable platform from which to work while standing.
Rolling Ladders - Ladders that roll along tracks, typically found in libraries.
Roof Ladders - Ladder with hooks that hook over the ridge of the roof to allow you to climb up the roof.
Platform Ladders - Self-supporting portable ladders that do not adjust in length. Sometimes referred to as folding ladder because they fold up for easy storage.
